C.S.P. Summer Workshops are programs designed for young people entering kindergarten through twelfth grades. They provide an opportunity for talented and creative students to experience live theatre . The participants will personally be involved in the dynamics of combined art forms, the challenges of creative self-expression and the appreciation of theatre as a major force in cultural development. All workshops and productions will be held in the Thomas A. Bruder Life Center and the surrounding Neumann University campus facilities. Performances will be held in the 300-seat Fred P. Meagher Theatre.

Workshop I: Theatre Camp for Little People

July 5 - July 22, 2011
10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Cost: $310

This workshop is open to approximately twenty-five students entering kindergarten
through third grades.This program is designed to introduce young people to theater. Students will experience every aspect of play-acting from mind games to performing. All activities will offer a variety of challenges to accommodate the range of abilities among the students. A showcase performance will be performed on July 22.

Workshop II: Introduction to Theatre

July 5 - July 22, 2011
10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Cost: $310

The workshop is designed for fourth and fifth grade students who would like to
introduce themselves to the stage. The participants will concentrate on a variety of acting skills by using improvisations, stage games, stage crafts, and a short play script to produce a twenty-minute production. The showcase will be performed for parents and friends on July 22.

Workshop III: Showcase Workshop

July 5 - July 30, 2011
10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (also two possible evening rehearsals)
Cost: $460

This workshop is open to approximately forty students entering sixth through ninth
grades.Each session is devoted to developing various theatrical skills. A culminating theatre production entitled Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Jr. will be produced and performed for parents, friends, and community members. Performances will be held in the Fred P. Meagher Theatre on July 28, 29, 30, 2011. Tickets will be available through the Office for Cultural Programming in the Life Center. Call 610-558-5626 for reservations.

Workshop IV: High School Ensemble/Children’s Theatre Workshop

July 11 - August 6, 2011
1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. (possible evening dress rehearsal)
Cost: $110

This workshop is open to approximately twenty students entering ninth grade through young adult. The class will encourage cooperative learning while concentrating on
storytelling and performing. The students will produce a children’s participatory production. Production dates are August 28, 29, 30, 2011. Tickets are available at
