Dave Torok - Work Summary

My resume is NOT currently online.

I am currently in a high-visibility position using my skills in enterprise architecture, team leadership, business analysis, client interaction, and technology strategy.

The following is a very brief history of my work experience:

  • Advisory Analyst (Enterprise Architect) at Siemens Medical Systems in Malvern, PA. (November 2003 - present). Responsible for SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) for the Soarian suite of products. Focus is on standards and technologies for Public Web Services, Asynchronous Architecture (Messaging and Enterprise Service Bus), Web Service Security, technical and content interoperability with partner companies such as SAP and Partners Health Care, and SOA Metadata Registry / Repository.
  • Lead Technologist at Electronic Ink in Center City Philadelphia specializing in bridging business and technical analysis, architecture, and design (July 2002 - November 2003)
  • Web Systems Architect / Technical Lead at Destiny WebSolutions in Conshohocken, PA (near Philadelphia), specializing in enterprise application architecture, design, and development for the financial industry. (November 1999 - July 2002)
  • Senior Technical Specialist at Aston Brooke Corporation (currently FullTilt Solutions), specializing in software architecture, business problem analysis, and intranet/internet application development in Java, XML, and Web Application Servers. (July 1997 - November 1999)
  • Senior Software Developer for a wireless start-up,  NextWave Telecom Inc. in the New York and Philadelphia offices,
    working on GIS (geographical information systems) and operational support systems in Java, C, C++, CORBA, Oracle, and HTML. (November 1995 - July 1997).
  • Member of Technical Staff at NYNEX Science & Technology (currently Verizon) . My most recent project there was "WorkFrame" (recently renamed "Brahms") , an agent-based business process simulation tool. (July 1990 - November 1995). The Brahms project is ongong at NASA Ames Research Center. I received US patent #6,216,098 issued April 2001, "Simulating Work Behavior", issued to Clancey, Torok, Sierhuis, van Hoof, and Sachs.
